Character: OU: Link [tp] Series/Fandom: Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Age: Appears to be a full-grown wolf, but has the mind and attitude of a 16-year-old boy Gender: male Species: wolf Sexuality: heterosexual Appearance: Link is a black wolf with white highlight on his belly, feet, tail, and muzzle. He has a jagged white stripe on both sides of his body, running from his shoulders to his rear. This stripe is more like a lightning bolt than a straight line. Around his muzzle he has a jagged white stripe running from his chin back a few inches, and a second jagged white line that runs all the way to his ears. Both of these lines are symmetrical for both sides of his face. On his forehead he has a white diamond-shaped mark with a white dot in the center. The black fur from his head running to his back is very thick, almost like a horse’s mane. If a small enough person were to mount him, this tough hair could be used like reins on a horse. The hair is matted and slightly dirty, forming natural dreadlocks. On his left ear hangs a small silver earring. On his front left paw is the manacle and stub of a chain which jangles when he runs or walks. His eyes are a bright blue and seem to stare right through you. Personality: Link’s personality as a human carries over into his wolf form. He is kind, caring and very willing to help anyone in trouble. Link is a bit quiet, but not afraid to rush into danger, yet not always thinking of his safety (especially for damsels in distress). As a wolf, he is a bit more shy and cautious, due to how most people react when they spot a huge black wolf with strange blue eyes. Abilities/Strengths: Link is a huge black wolf, so he has sharp claws and teeth used for defense. He can also run long distances with relative speed. Link’s howl can be heard from great distances. He also has enhanced hearing and smelling, since he is a wolf. Finally, he is able to communicate with other animals while in wolf form, while having to rely on strange telepathy powers to speak with humans. In terms of psychological strengths, Link is very confident in his abilities and isn’t afraid to try again. Even with the hindrance of his wolf form, he keeps his mind open to new ideas and uses his resources wisely. Despite being called names like monster or savage beast Link keeps a positive attitude that he will accomplish his goals. Weaknesses: Being a huge wolf, most people are very fearful and tend to attack right away without asking questions. These surprise attacks startle Link, since he used to be human and doesn’t always remember he’s a wolf. Also, he’s rather quiet and shy, so he doesn’t always take action on the first beat, which means the enemy usually gets the first move in battle. Finally, Link can only speak with humans using telepathy (mind-speaking). This form of communication takes patience as he has not had much practice refining this new ability. In terms of psychological weaknesses, Link has only fears and bad memories. As a wolf, it is easy for him to recall his first horrific transformation. Also, sometimes he loses a bit of faith in his abilities, especially after hard ridicule and fright from the townsfolk. When Link’s morale is low, it can be hard for him to find his way again. Notable Possessions: He has a silver earring on his left ear. Not much is known about this artifact. History: Link was a young Hyrulean boy living Ordon Village and had a simple life helping to herd cattle on a ranch. He lived by himself, but was often found playing with the other children in the village. One day, however, Link’s good friend Ilia and the other children are captured by strange shadow demons, so he goes on a quest to save them. Along the way, Link encounters a strange, dark dimension where he changes into a wolf. While in this dimension, other people appear as spirits. Also, places and people are not always as they seem in this Twilight Dimension. The only way for Link to escape from this place is with the help of Midna, a strange shaman-like being who rescued him from the Twilight Dimension after being captured. At the moment, Link has become separated from Midna while suddenly being thrust into the Twilight Dimension yet again. The wolf is hoping to come across Midna as she is his only hope at returning to Hyrule and restoring the Mirror of Twilight in order to rescue Princess Zelda and stop Zant. Midna befriended Princess Zelda when Zant first attacked, and she helped her to escape the castle. Since then, Princess Zelda’s whereabouts have become unknown, as Hyrule Castle is impenetrable without the help of the Mirror of Twilight. Zant is the evil force behind the strange dimension appearances, as he is hoping to gain control of the whole world by utilizing this new-found dark power of transformation.
